I’ve previously photographed a summer wedding at Sleeping Lady Resort in Leavenworth, Wa. The entire time I was there I was thinking how magical this location would be in the winter.
I was not wrong.
Katy & Ely chose to have their wedding there because nearly everyone was coming in from out of town and they wanted their wedding to reflect their love of the mountains. A more perfect venue could not have been chosen. They beautifully mixed traditional Jewish and Christian elements to make a wedding day that was incredibly unique and as much fun as any wedding I’ve attended (just take a look at the reception photos if you have any doubts).
While it didn’t snow when we were there, it did the week leading up to it. The snow you think you see falling in some of the photos is actually melting snow falling from the trees—hence the umbrellas. It was relatively warm and that led us to being able to stay outside for lots and lots of fun portraits. Beautiful location. Beautiful light. Beautiful people. Beautiful photos.
